Contactless payments can be triggered accidentally
Contactless payments (tap-to-pay) need you to be very close (within 4 cm) to the payment terminal and intentionally tap your card to start a transaction.
Carrying a contactless card or a mobile device with NFC capabilities won’t accidentally make a payment. They are made to be safe and need you to intentionally use them.
Also, RBI has made strict rules and limits on transactions to make them more secure. Although no system is entirely secure, contactless payments have robust security measures in place to ensure a safe experience. Read more about how it works here.
