If an investment earns less than inflation, the returns are tax-free if it is eligible for indexation. And Insurance distributors market the tax exemption benefits to sell insurance policies.

But many other investments give better returns even after paying taxes. So don’t invest only for tax benefits. Look for other factors as well.
